Permits and Inspections

Most lighting installations don't require a permit unless we're running new circuits or doing structural work. When a permit is needed, we pull it and coordinate the inspection. You'll have documentation that the work was done right.

Can you install a heavy chandelier on my existing box?+

We'll inspect the box first. Standard boxes support up to 50 pounds; heavier fixtures require a fan-rated or reinforced box. If yours isn't adequate, we'll install the correct support before mounting the chandelier.

Do I need a permit to replace a light fixture?+

Replacing a fixture on an existing box typically doesn't require a permit in most NJ municipalities. Running new circuits or adding boxes usually does. We'll let you know what's required for your project.

Can you install smart lighting or dimmer switches?+

Yes. We install compatible dimmers and smart switches for LED, incandescent, and other fixture types. We'll verify your wiring supports the control you want and ensure proper operation.
